Portraits

All of my portraits are drawn on Bristol Board paper with Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils and Caran d’Ache Luminance Pencils, with the aim of capturing the soul of the subject at one moment in time, including posthumous portraits.

All that I require is a high-resolution, close-up, in-focus photograph that details the subject’s features, but doesn’t cut off any part of their head or face. It should also be a flattering photograph as there is a balance between photo-realism and creating a fetching portrait. Consider the colour of the subject’s eyes, for example. In some lights, the true colour and details of the iris can be obscured. The better the photo, the better the portrait.

On average, a single subject A4 portrait takes in excess of 40-50 hours to complete. I also have to factor in the cost of the materials used.

NB: The prices below do not include postage and packing. Please add on the postage and packing costs, which are listed at the bottom of the page.

The reason why two subjects are not available for the A4 size is because this size is too small for two detailed subjects. The smaller the portrait, the more the detail is compromised. Likewise with three or four subjects for the A3 size.
